East Coast of Canada – Oil Painting
My First oil painting. Much to be improved upon here. Took me months to complete because I fussed. Yeah girls do fuss don’t we. A man would probably be more inclined to slap the paint on and say that’s that. So it took forever. There are parts I like and parts I hate. Let’s just call it a primitive.
This was my first oil painting since I was 16 years old. That makes it a Virgin again doesn’t it.
Sunny Day On Water- Watercolour
Another small one but big enough for my small home who’s walls are full of paintings. Again a second hand frame I found which already had a mat. This spring I will re-work that frame.
The Tide Is Out – Watercolor
When I found I could paint something frameable I went off to the local Value Village. I bought lots of frames for just a few dollars each. Now I paint my new paintings to the frame sizes. That way I save $100’s of dollars on framing.
This spring when the weather is warm I plan to buy some spray paint and also some of those little pots of fancy antique paints. Take my frames off and do some nice paint effects on them so they look very professional…. looking forward to that.
Watercolor Houses – Watercolour
Watercolor Country Houses
This was one of my early attempts at watercolor painting. At first it was very stressful, because although my new hobby of painting was supposed to be fun I soon discovered that I put the same endeavour into it as I did with work and got into judging what was good and what I thought was bad and trying to make it all come out just so.
Ha ha, not with watercolor. The water was so challenging to control that I soon was defeated by it. Out of the dozens I tried this was my very first decent attempt. So I went right out and bought a frame and hung my watercolor painting on my wall.
